The Shakespeare Hotel – Stratford-Upon-Avon

This is the Shakespeare Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon project from design to completion.

The client wanted the handwriting of William Shakespeare to be enlarged and hand painted onto the wall in the large reception area of the hotel. The hotel was being modernised so the artwork had to have a modern edge whilst still looking traditional.

Below is an image of an original document hand written by William Shakespeare (held at the British Library).  This is what we worked from.

Below is the design to scale to show how the enlarged document would look over all 3 walls.

Below is a canvas sample we produced for the client to show the different colour options as well as how the overall piece would look.

This is the finished artwork hand painted over all 3 walls.  Hand painted with Dulux paint and then using a rag technique, we distressed the artwork to add an aged parchment effect.

Andy Murray Mural

This action shot painting of Andy Murray was hand painted for a Davidsons Homes show home.  Painted as a feature wall, this mural was a talking point amongst the tennis fans who came to visit this home.

This Lewis Hamilton mural was hand painted near Silverstone for a Davidsons Homes show home, featuring the current season’s sponsors Petronas.  This mural is perfect for any Formula 1 loving teenager!

Depth of Aubergine – Abstract Artwork

Painted for a private client, this bespoke piece of abstract artwork shows depth and movement.  Using dusty Aubergine colours with silver greys, we created this piece for their dining room.  This hand painted abstract canvas was then framed with a Shadow frame.

Cinderella

One lucky girl will be receiving her hand drawn Cinderella illustrations tomorrow!! I'm so excited to see her little face when she receives them! Each illustration was hand drawn in coloured pencil and then clear glitter was added to show the magic!  The artwork was then framed in a white frame.

Winnie-The-Pooh Bedroom and En-suite

 

A busy week in London hand painting a Winnie-the-pooh bedroom for a special little guy! The Winnie-the-pooh theme runs right across all three walls, framed around a tent bed. Also I hand painted cabinet doors for the en-suite bathroom, which were then varnished. To finish off I scattered little bumblebees everywhere! The client was so pleased.

Calming Magnolia Canvas

I painted this piece of artwork for a hallway to create calm and beauty. I kept neutral tones to suit the home, using an off white background lifted the white magnolia flowers. I chose to paint the magnolia flower as it one of my favourite trees, full of beauty and grace. The flowering of the magnolia tree is something I look forward to ever year.

Dr Seuss Canvas

 The background of the canvas was painted to match the wall colour (The Little Greene Paint Company – Limestone) and then I hand painted all the quotes in black with Dr Seuss at the base.

This was painted for ‘Ensoul – Interior Architecture’, in Spencer Park, Wandsworth.

Little Girls Room - Blossom Tree Wall Mural

Such a simple yet very effective design. I hand painted a blossom using soft tones, painting the blossom tree in a corner to stretch over the bed and then wooden letters with ribbon were pinned to the branch.  Hand painted by Carren Lu (Artistic Touch)

'Move like Jagger' I have a client who is a huge fan of the Rolling Stones and he asked me to paint this Andy Warhol painting, so here it is! A painting of Mick Jagger from the 70's.

Paddington Bear is off to New York City!!

 

 

 

Paddington is off on another adventure... to New York city!! I hope he like's his new home over there. Our first international client, Artistic Touch is growing!

I painted Paddington Bear on watercolour paper using Gouache paint.  Using Gouache paint is a great paint to use because the colours are really bright and the paint is easy to rework, with just a little water. By Carren Lu
